What does one do when it's too hot for anything??

Well she lives in her swimsuit, for one. You'll have to use your imagination for that - it is a nice suit.

She sews and sews...

 Dresden Plates - I think I have 4 sew to this stage. Each plate has twenty pieces. There will be 24 plates in all - that's 480 of those spears for this quilt. I'm not even going to think about how many times I have touched those little buggers.

 I still have 80 of them to sew together, turn and press. This pattern is a bit labor intensive at the start.

 Then she listens to two boys whine and wheedle about how there's nothing to do..

 She watches one take a nap with the cat....

Then she goes out to the garden to see that something is enjoying her tomatoes....

 And she spies small cucumbers on the vine.

Is it "warm" by you?? What are you doing to stay cool and sane?

Sock (monkey) Love

The sock monkeys are complete. They have been to karate, the park, and beyond.

The mouse ear hosta is blooming. Actually most of my hostas are blooming, but this one is so little and cute.

Yummmm. I can't wait to have one!

Where has the week gone?

My gosh. Tomorrow is Friday. Can you believe it?? This week has flown by for me. It hasn't been busy - no extra work or school meetings. I actually got to go to Monday night knitting and exercise class on Tuesday night. I think the week off from work was just what I needed because I was dragging for what seemed like year (from mid January to the end of March).

My flower gardens are all cleaned off and waiting for mulch - maybe this weekend. There was snow on them this morning, but it was melting as I left for work.

I've also been busy in the craft room too. I have the wall hanging ready to quilt (de ja vu - I think I wrote that before). I was looking at the stack of left over fabric and realized that I only had enough to put a hanger on the back, not enough for the binding. I do however have a really nice project bag made from some of the material in the quilt - guess I didn't figure I needed that!

Magic loop - I'm in love with you. Here are the class project socks.
I've got another pair almost done. And figured out how to do the barn-raising squares magic loop style (two of those done).

Reading over this makes me think I am in a manic crafting phase - not so much - just enjoying learning something new.

Finished Object

I haven't had a finished object in a long time. It makes me a bit worried that I am dabbling too much, but really I haven't.

My mom made the top of this quilt for Ian (before she knew he was he not a she). She didn't think Kal would appreciate a purple and pink kitty quilt for a boy. You know how kids are when they decide what they like - it doesn't matter what the parents like. It probably would have been his favorite.

I finished it (quilted and binded) and am giving it to a friend at work who just had a baby girl. Now to get it in the mail before K gets to kindergarden!
