The last two...

The boys have been asking for those plastic blocks molds to make igloos. Actually I mentioned them a while back and now that we have some snow they want them. So yesterday, I went to the local Ace Hardware to pick them up. Guess what? They didn't have any... I was hoping they would.

You see I am spoiled by an Ace in one of the towns that I teach in. It has everything, if you can't find it at Ace in Sauk Prairie, you don't need it - really you don't. I love that store. It has everything except grocery items - if you don't count candy, chips and soda - which they do have.

So this morning in our wonderful Wisconsin weather BECAUSE I had a two hour delay AND I love my children - read I really don't want to listen to them whine.

I GOT THE LAST TWO ON THE SHELF!!!!!!!

They are going to be SO excited tonight when they get home from school!

Just a little prickly

 The oldest is a bit prickly right now. Homework issues.

We had a little reprieve after Christmas and now the honeymoon is over. We are back to shouting (him) and me trying to soothe him and move him along. He complains that he never gets any free time. And truthfully, sometimes it feels like that even for me. 

We are going to start something new next week. Hopefully that will help his self-esteem and the mood of our house. I'm not sure how much more yelling I can take...

Just for a little bit

Today for a little bit, our house had a very peaceful vibe. Kal was studying and I was sewing (between lots of laundry).  The boys were grounded from all electronics SO they were making due with legos, blocks, and their imaginations. It was nice.
